BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Bookings and Payment

Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your transport. We accept all major credit cards. All prices are listed and charged in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Your booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed and you have received a confirmation email.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before departure will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure, or failure to travel on the booked service, will result in the full fare being forfeited. Requests to change bookings are subject to availability.

Department of Conservation (DOC) Booking Requirement

All passengers travelling to or from the Milford Track must hold a valid Department of Conservation (DOC) hut booking. Passengers may be refused boarding if they are unable to provide confirmation of a valid DOC booking.

Weather and Operational Conditions

Services operate in most weather conditions. In the event that a service is cancelled by Milford Track Transport due to weather, safety, or operational requirements, passengers will be offered the option to:

  • Reschedule to an alternative departure date, or
  • Receive a full refund

Travel times may vary depending on weather and lake conditions.

Departure and Check-in

Passengers are required to arrive at their departure location at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Services depart on time. Passengers who arrive late and miss their departure may be considered a no-show and will forfeit their booking.

Changes to Services

Milford Track Transport reserves the right to alter schedules, vessels, or transport arrangements where necessary due to weather, safety considerations, operational requirements, or circumstances beyond our control.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify passengers of any changes as soon as possible.

Passenger Responsibility

Passengers are responsible for:

  • Holding a valid Milford Track booking with the Department of Conservation
  • Arriving at the correct departure location on time
  • Following all crew instructions during travel
  • Ensuring their belongings are suitable for transport

Limitation of Liability

Milford Track Transport is not responsible for delays, disruptions, or additional costs incurred due to weather conditions, natural events, road closures, or other circumstances outside our control.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under New Zealand consumer law.
